Middle & High School
These four activity books are perfect for middle school and high school-aged students and their teachers. They can read about the Lewis and Clark, Oregon-California, Mormon, and Pony Express trails. Primary and secondary sources are used throughout using a variety of exercises.
Topics include: historical development, modes of travel, motivations, problems and hazards encountered, forts, significant people, routes, landmarks, guides and guidebooks, and diaries and daily experiences.
Different activities, techniques and skills are used in the process. They include: map work, charts and graphs, matching, reading comprehension, word searches, classification, puzzles and even special "brainbusters" for further research. An answer section enables one to quickly check their work.
